ALong THE ROUTE
Route 17 connects the US Route 1 business corridor from the IKEA Store in College Park south to the Town of Mt. Rainier terminating at the Mt. Rainier bus terminal.
The route integrates business and retail centers and provides service to the College Park Metrorail Station.
Key stops along the Route 17 are Mt. Rainier Branch Library, the County Services Building, Campus Village Shops, University of Maryland, and the IKEA store in College Park.
Capital Bikeshare is located near several stops along the route including the Mt. Rainier terminal, Rhode Island Avenue at 39th Street, and Baltimore Avenue at Jefferson Street.
Route 17 riders also enjoy access to the Mt. Rainier Branch Library, Prince George’s African American Museum, and Campus Village Shops.
ABout THEBUS
Prince George's County operates TheBus to meet local transportation needs of its residents and visitors. TheBus' fixed route system consists of 28 routes that cover more than 10,000 miles.
TheBus operates Monday through Saturday from 6AM to 6:30PM. No services are provided during major holidays. Adult fare is $1.00. Senior, disabled, and youth (5-18) users ride free.
TheBus accepts cash and SmarTrip cards for payment of fares. Pennies are not accepted. Bus-to-bus transfers are free only when using SmarTrip. Other passes are available (such as weekly or monthly). Please have exact fare ready when you board. Drivers do not carry change.
