Trails

To major trails cross the Route 1 Ride service area: Paint Branch Pedestrian Trail, which crosses underneath Route 1 just adjacent to the University of Maryland Campus. This trail extends north and connects with Cherry Hill Road and runs south to Paint Branch Parkway adjacent to Rhode Island Avenue. The Route 1 Ride bus stops closest to this trail include Lakeland Road-Paint Branch Trail-The Varsity, University of Maryland, and Paint Branch Parkway. Anacostia NW Branch Trail crosses Route 1 adjacent to Charles Armentrout Drive in Hyattsville.  This trail goes from Colmar Manor through West Hyattsville and connects with the Sligo Creek Trail that extends all the way to Wheaton. The closest Route 1 Ride bus stop is Anacostia NW Branch Trail which is a few blocks south of downtown Hyattsville.

Parking

Parking your vehicle and taking the Route 1 Ride bus to avoid traffic and areas with limited parking is a smart move.  There are several public parking areas with plenty of parking spaces along  Route 1 that can make getting to your destination easier. The following public parking locations are within easy walking distance of the Route 1 Ride bus:
